In Her Zine is a collaboration with Arts & Homelessness International as part of their Arts Lab 2020/21.
Arts Lab is a space to investigate specific issues with groups comprised of individuals with lived experience, social sector workers, activists, artists & academics.
‘Womxn’s Project’ ran from November 2020 to January 2021 with weekly online meetings exploring the intersections of women’s experience of homelessness.
It was a space of sharing, creating and calls for action which resulted in a zine, a soundscape and a live event.
Alongside creating 4 monologues (you can watch on In Her Stories) we created audio only versions for you to listen to. These were made with the support of Leicester Curve, specifically sean McCabe
Purchase this book filled with art, poetry and activism for £3 + postage, of which all proceeds go to the women who helped create it. Approximately 60% of the creators have experienced homelessness.
Accompanying the Zine, we gave space to share stories, our voices and the world we found ourselves in. Listen whilst you read, or separately, that’s up to you.
We ran a participatory Zoom workshop filled with poetry, meditation, spoken word performances, sounds and artwork for International Women’s Day (Mon 08 March 2021).
